MOHSEN RASTANI
Mohsen Rastani is a true master of the photographic medium.
Probably the most lyrical of the Iranian masters, Rastani’s portraits of quotidian life and of the average populace have opened a hitherto unknown viewing window.
Probably no one else has ever been able to take over the mantle of the great Robert Frank; and not only has Rastani managed to do so, but he has flavoured that with his own brand of genius.
Rastani's direct and unadorned pictures, free of the distractions of background, pose and colour, are pure depictive genius.
